Blue Christmas

Christmas often brings thoughts of good times with family, friends and loved ones. However, we all experience changes in our lives every day and some of these changes have a profound impact on our feelings and emotions towards the holiday season.

A change in job security, housing security, relationships, loss of a loved one or family member can make the season feel blue and depressing when the world wants us to be merry and bright. 

Blue Christmas is a community service that is hosted at St. Peter's on the longest night of the year as we gather to name those losses and emotions, place them on the altar and give them over to God. It is a service that is contemplative, reflective and healing.
